A web address or domain name is your permanent address on the Internet. It's a unique name used to identify, among other things, a specific web site. Your web address (www.yourname.com) directs visitors to your home page on the web. It can also be used as part of your e-mail address to reinforce your online identity. For example: sales@yourname.com. Déise Design will register your address (.com .org .net or .ie etc.) for a low annual fee. Any web sites that are hosted with Déise Design will automatically receive a domain name free of charge as part of our hosting service. You can select any available .com .org or .net domain name. We can register your web site with a .ie domain name but that entails a small annual extra charge. All domain names that we register on our clients behalf remain the property of our clients. We issue each client with a receipt indicating that they are the owners of their own domain name.

If you don't wish to build a web site yet but simply require a domain name to be reserved for your future use we can register the domain on your behalf. Registration of a .com .org. or.net domain name costs €30 per annum plus VAT. We will place a message on the web space indicating that the web space at www.yourname.org is the future home of your company web site. We can also set up an Email alias of info@yourname.com

Advantages Of Having Your Own Domain Name

You could get a free web site that had a name like http://www.company.com/users/~yourname - but no one will be able to remember the address. It is easier to remember www.yourname.com .
You can set up an email 'alias' such as info@yourname.com so that if you move internet service provider from Eircom to Oceanfree you do not have to worry about the Email address on all your business stationery being altered.
It simply seems more professional. When you have your own domain name, it shows people that you care enough about your business to invest a few Euro into having your own domain.
